'Gawimarra' is the Wiradjuri word for 'gather' shows the remainder of shellfish after Community has worked together to harvest and care for Country. The shells would be piled into a midden, a clear sign that a species has been harvested for a specific area and no longer available to another group moving through that area. This silent communication ensured continued abundance of all species and minimised the impact of harvesting.
'Gather' shows the how layers of silent communication work with connection and absolute respect to Salt Water Country. As always Spirit of the Land remains present within the work.Kay A
