This artwork was inspired by scarred trees, one in particular that had healed over. The coloured lines radiating from the centre represent the tree's energy exposed at the time the limb was removed. In Wiradjuri culture we do not cut down trees. We use fallen wood, branches, leaves, sap from the tree. It is our understanding that trees are sentient and it is now scientifically proven that trees have a heartbeat. Learn to listen and you will hear.
